Summer: Beach Season for the Cape and Vineyard, Home Energy Assessment Season for Cape Light Compact
Summer is fast approaching, the busy season on Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard. It is also a good time to sign up for Cape Light Compact’s Home Energy Assessment Program. This program helps Cape and Vineyard homeowners and residents save money on their energy bills, and improve the comfort, efficiency, and value of their homes by providing customized home energy assessments and installing energy-efficient upgrades at no cost. Now is the time to sign up for an energy assessment, so that you can be served while here enjoying the beaches.
Cape Light Compact (as your local Mass Save® Sponsor) offers no-cost and low-cost solutions and by signing up for a no-cost home energy assessment you are taking the first step toward a more comfortable and energy-efficient home. The program utilizes a whole-home approach that looks at your home’s efficiency from basement to attic, and insulation to appliances. During the assessment, an energy specialist installs free energy-efficient equipment, such as ENERGY STAR® certified LED light bulbs, and develops a customized report for your home.
Cape Light Compact can work with you to improve your home’s insulation and take other steps to make it more energy efficient. Adding insulation and other weatherization measures not only makes your home warmer in the winter, it can also insulate your home from hot summer temperatures, making it easier to cool, so that it stays comfortable and you save on energy costs. We all know summer is a busy time, and it’s no different for Cape Light Compact. By signing up now you can beat the rush and be sure there is time to make it happen before the weather turns cool again. Sign up online or call 1-800-797-6699.
What Can I Expect?
During the home energy assessment an energy specialist will install energy-saving products with no cost to you, including ENERGY STAR certified LED bulbs, advanced power strips, and air sealing. In addition, you will receive a customized report detailing other upgrades that would benefit your home. The report will also highlight applicable rebates and incentives that could help with this, such as Cape Light Compact’s incentive for at least 75 percent off home insulation improvements and generous rebates of up to $3250 on qualifying energy-efficient heating, cooling and water heating equipment. Making some of these improvements will not only help you save energy, but can also reduce your energy costs, improve the comfort of your home, and increase your home’s value. After the assessment, it’s up to you as far as what, if any, improvements you would like to pursue.
