8/11/21 Customer Notice: The Compact was recently made aware of an error made by the Compact’s Power Supply provider, NextEra, in submitting the new residential power supply rate that was supposed to go into effect on customers’ June meter reads. CLC residential power supply customers’ June-July bills still showed the old rate of 11.85 cents/kWh. This only affects non-CLC Local Green residential customers. All other rates (commercial, industrial, and all CLC Local Green rates) were changed over correctly. The Compact and NextEra are aware of the issue and will be issuing bill credits to the affected customers on their next bill to refund the overcharge for the June-July billing cycle. They are also going to put in place additional internal controls to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

Environmental Health and Engineering, Inc. (EH&E), a trusted third-party health and safety consulting firm, has developed enhanced COVID-19 health and safety guidelines for the weatherization of 1-4 family residential buildings. The Massachusetts Program Administrators are considering these guidelines as minimum requirements to resume on-premise work of this nature. All contracted vendors and trade allies will be required to demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with these guidelines before being authorized to resume any on-premise work of this nature. After August 31, vendors are requested to train additional field personnel on the health & safety guidelines internally, with the materials provided below. Program inspection teams will continue to assess field workers’ compliance with these health & safety requirements until such time as it may no longer be required. Download the training materials here: These materials will also be available on the EH&E website starting September 1. For a limited time, Cape Light Compact will be offering enhanced incentives for homes and businesses. Cape Light Compact has compiled Residential and Business Energy Saving Tips as people will be spending more time inside at their homes and business find themselves either closed or under reduced hours. A list of Federal and State COVID-19 resources can be found on the COVID-19 Resources page.
