PRESS RELEASE
For Immediate Release: June 9, 2014
Barnstable, MA – Cape Light Compact needs your help! In the coming weeks, random households across Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard will receive a letter and a survey from the Compact seeking information about household energy use. Completion of this survey is important to the Compact and to the region as a whole.
Households that complete the survey and reply by July 9, 2014 will have a chance to win one of ten $100 American Express Gift Cards or the grand prize of $1,000 in energy efficiency appliances. Winners will be chosen randomly from completed surveys received by July 9th.
“It only takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete the survey, and by responding you will contribute to shaping energy efficiency programs that you could benefit from in the future,” said Maggie Downey, Compact Administrator.
The survey asks residents to provide information on their home appliances, heating system, air conditioning, lighting, and other features that could influence energy consumption. Responders can reply using the written survey, or electronically using a link indicated in the letter. All responses to the survey will be kept strictly confidential.
The survey was designed with the help of Opinion Dynamics, a firm with national experience in developing successful energy efficiency programs. “We want to get people more involved in thinking about how they use energy,” Downey said. “Doing better with energy efficiency is the big prize we all win.”
