This fall, we’re happy to welcome Dan Schell to the Cape Light Compact team!

Dan will serve as the Marketing and Communications Coordinator, working to build awareness about the Compact’s energy efficiency programs, power supply program, and effective consumer advocacy on energy issues. He will also have a special focus on supporting our award-winning Energy Education Program, where he’ll continue our work incorporating energy education into classrooms across the Cape and Vineyard and providing opportunities for students to participate in state and national energy fairs and competitions.

We’re excited for Dan to bring to the Compact his talent and drive for effectively engaging with and bettering communities, which he has proven through his years of experience in public service and education. After graduating from St. Mary’s College of Maryland with a degree in Philosophy and Religious Studies, Dan spent two years as an AmeriCorps member – first in Colorado, where he served with the National Civilian Community Corps, and then in Cape Cod, where he supervised local, environmentally-focused service projects. Dan then spent three years working in Residence Life at his Alma Mater, where he held a special role completing sexual misconduct investigations. Two years ago, Dan moved back to New England after accepting a role as the Program Coordinator for AmeriCorps Cape Cod, returning to his work supporting environmental service projects in the region.

We look forward to watching Dan continue engaging with the Cape Cod and Vineyard community as he helps support and share the Compact’s education initiatives, consumer advocacy work, and energy and environmental programs. Next time you see Dan, please join us in providing him with a warm welcome!
