Cape Light Compact celebrates Energy Efficiency Day with no-cost energy assessments for small businesses in Chatham and Oak Bluffs
Chatham and Oak Bluffs, MA – On Wednesday, October 2, 2019, Cape Light Compact, local Mass Save Sponsor, is partnering with the Town of Chatham, Chatham Chamber of Commerce, and Chatham Merchants Association, Oak Bluffs Association and Town of Oak Bluffs to bring local small businesses on-the-spot energy assessments in honor of Energy Efficiency Day.
Throughout Wednesday, the Cape Light Compact’s (Compact) Energy Specialists will be visiting a number of businesses in the area to assess their buildings for energy efficiency opportunities, which in turn will save money on monthly energy costs.
Businesses will receive personalized reports that outline their recommended energy-saving improvements and learn about incentives that may be available to them. Some businesses may also receive same-day installation of energy-saving measures such as screw-in LED light bulbs, thermostats, faucet aerators and more, at little to no cost to the business owner. The Compact will also be increasing its standard incentive for a limited time to up to 90% for businesses to proceed with installing recommended energy efficient improvements.
“The Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard economy relies on small business. Whether you are a seasonal or year-round business, Cape Light Compact wants to help you save money and energy,” says Maggie Downey, the Compact Administrator. “Energy Efficiency Day offers a unique opportunity to provide businesses with energy-saving upgrades that can help them increase profit margins and improve their buildings’ comfort and work environment”
To make it truly easy and accessible for the business owners, no appointment is needed for this event, and the assessments are completed in a short amount of time in a single day.

In addition to this one-day event, Cape Light Compact is offering the enhanced incentives of up to 90% to all eligible small businesses on Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard who sign-up for an assessment throughout the month of October. Businesses who are not visited on October 2nd, should call Cape Light Compact (800-797-6699) in October to sign up for a no-cost energy assessment of their facility.
