National Grid has filed a petition with the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities (Department) to exclusively provide energy efficiency services to its residential natural gas heating customers on Cape Cod.

Specifically Cape Light Compact has been serving all customers through its home energy assessments in a fuel-blind manner, as natural gas heating customers are paying for energy efficiency services on both their electric and natural gas bills. If the petition was granted, natural gas heated residential customers would not be able to be served through the Compact’s energy efficiency programs, which offers enhanced incentives.

The Department is holding a public hearing on Wednesday 11/30/16 and have asked that any comments regarding this petition be submitted to the Department by 5:00 pm on 11/30/16 (see notice of hearing below – click on images for pdf version).
