Customers can opt in or out of Cape Light Compact’s Electricity Supply Program at any time. If you are unsure who your electric supplier is, you can check your most recent energy bill; the supplier location is highlighted in the example bill below. If your supplier is listed as NextEra Energy Services (NextEra), then you are already enrolled.
If you are not on the Compact’s supply and wish to switch, you can call 1-800-381-9192 after completing the steps below.
Before calling the Compact, you must call your current supplier and notify them of your intent to switch suppliers. If you do not complete this step, Eversource will be unable to process the change. Please review your current contract to ensure there are no penalties for switching suppliers.
Next, you should locate the following information on your most recent electric bill: you will need it to enroll. You can find their location on the sample bill below.
- Electric account number
- Customer name key
- Service address
- Service reference number
After calling the Compact’s supplier, NextEra, and completing your enrollment, NextEra will provide the information to Eversource. It may take Eversource up to three billing cycles to process the change. If you have questions about enrollment time, please call Eversource directly at 800-592-2000.
