How to Enroll in the Compact’s Electricity Supply Program

Customers can opt in or out of Cape Light Compact’s Electricity Supply Program at any time. If you are unsure who your electric supplier is, you can check your most recent energy bill; the supplier location is highlighted in the example bill below. If your supplier is listed as NextEra Energy Services (NextEra), then you are already enrolled.

If you are not on the Compact’s supply and wish to switch, you can call 1-800-381-9192 after completing the steps below.

If you are currently enrolled with a competitive supplier, please review the terms and conditions of your current contract to ensure there are no penalties or termination fees for switching suppliers before asking to be enrolled on the Compact’s supply.

Next, you should locate the following information on your most recent electric bill: you will need it to enroll. You can find each item’s location on the sample bill below.

  1. Electric account number
  2. Customer name key
  3. Service address
  4. Service reference number

After calling the Compact’s supplier, NextEra, and completing your enrollment, NextEra will provide the information to Eversource. It will take Eversource one to two billing cycles to process the change depending on how the enrollment request aligns with your billing cycle. If you have questions about the status of your enrollment, please contact NextEra at 1-800-381-9192.
