By using an ENERGY STAR® certified room air conditioner, you can avoid the heat, while also avoiding energy waste. A certified model uses 10% less energy than a non-certified model, which means you could save more than $75 over the lifetime of the unit.

Clothes Dryer:

$50 Standard Dryer Rebate Or $200 Heat Pump Dryer Rebate

Conserve energy and save money when you upgrade to an ENERGY STAR® certified electric clothes dryer.
ENERGY STAR-certified dryers use 20 percent less energy than conventional models, without sacrificing features or performance.

You can save even more by purchasing an ENERGY STAR-certified dryer that utilizes heat pump technology. These dryers use a heat pump that transfers heat from the air where the unit is located into the drum instead of using an electric resistance coil to generate it. These dryers use 40% less energy than standard models saving customers $430 a year.

In addition to saving on your energy costs, you may be eligible to receive $50 when you purchase an electric clothes dryer and $200 back when you purchase a heat pump dryer.

*Limit one rebate per account per calendar year

Refrigerator and Freezer Recycling:

$75 Rebate Per Recycled Unit

Do you have an old working refrigerator or freezer wasting energy? Residential electric customers who recycle their old and inefficient working refrigerators or freezers through the Mass Save® appliance recycling program will be offered no-cost pickup and removal - plus, a $75 rebate.

How it Works:

The following eligibility requirements apply:

  1. You must be a valid residential electric account holder of Cape Light Compact, Eversource, National Grid, or Unitil.
  2. Order must be placed between January 1, 2025 – Dec 31, 202,5 to receive the $75 rebate.
  3. Refrigerators and freezers must have an inside measurement between 10 and 30 cubic feet, which is the standard size for most units. Per state laws, all doors must be removed from the refrigerator/freezer before placing outside for pickup to avoid paying fines. You can read more about the law here.
  4. A maximum of two units per electric account per calendar year will be accepted.
  5. Have a working, but in-efficient dehumidifier? Although we cannot schedule in-home pick-ups for this appliance only, we can recycle these units if you’re scheduling a refrigerator/freezer pick up! A $30 rebate applies.

Ready to recycle? Schedule your NO-COST pickup online or by phone. Have your electric account number handy to avoid scheduling delays.

Induction Stove: $500 Rebate

Reduce your home’s carbon footprint by swapping out your natural gas* or propane stove with an induction stove and get a $500 rebate! To qualify for this rebate you must have your existing gas or propane stove verified prior to removal. To start the process, visit www.masssave.com/getverified.

Induction technology uses magnetic currents to directly heat your pots and pans, instead of the cooktop. Cooking with induction makes mealtime easier with quicker heat, precise control, and easy cleanup.

*Natural gas replacement rebates offered by National Grid.

What are the benefits of cooking on an induction stove?

  1. Boil 50% faster
Because induction creates instant heat within the metal of pots and pans, no heat is wasted in the process. This means water will boil up to 50% faster on induction cooktops compared to electric cooktops.
  2. Precise temperature control
Induction allows you to control heat more precisely, as opposed to conduction (electric and gas cooktops). This better temperature control reduces the risk of over or under cooking. Consistent heat delivers tasty results every time.
  3. Easy-to-clean surface
Induction has a smooth surface, much like modern electric cooktops. Almost immediately after you finish cooking, the cooktop itself will be cool enough to easily clean whatever mess is left behind.
