The Compact, along with other Massachusetts Program Administrators, was able to attain significant levels of energy savings, while maintaining budgetary control and complying with the directive of the Green Communities Act to seek all cost-effective energy efficiency<a href=\"https:\/\/www.capelightcompact.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/CLC_AnnualRep_WebsiteGraphic_v54.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-4593\" title=\"CLC_AnnualRep_WebsiteGraphic_v5\" src=\"https:\/\/www.capelightcompact.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/CLC_AnnualRep_WebsiteGraphic_v54.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"457\" height=\"330\" \/><\/a> opportunities. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cFor the second year in a row, Massachusetts has been named number one in the nation by the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE) for energy efficiency efforts,\u201d states Dr. Joyce Flynn, Cape Light Compact Governing Board Chair. \u201cI\u2019m especially proud of the Compact\u2019s 2012 superb cost-effectiveness, by translating over $25 million in costs into more than $95 million in savings and benefits for ratepayers on Cape Cod and Martha\u2019s Vineyard.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2012 Annual Report Highlights:<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Cape Light Compact achieved the greatest amount of energy savings, for a single program year, in its history. <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Cape Light Compact\u2019s Energy Efficiency Programs re-invested over $25 million in cost-effective energy saving measures in homes and businesses on Cape Cod and Martha\u2019s Vineyard.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Approximately 14,000 Cape Cod and Martha\u2019s Vineyard residents and businesses took advantage of Cape Light Compact\u2019s Energy Efficiency Programs.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2012 Program participants will experience more than $95 million in benefits over the life of the measures installed. These benefits come in the form of: lower electric bills, reduced carbon emissions and deliverable fuel savings.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Over 318,000 Megawatt-Hours (MWh) of electricity will be saved over the lifetime of the installed energy efficiency measures.
