Take approximately five minutes to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.capelightcompact.org\/cape-light-compact-launches-new-online-home-energy-assessment\/\">answer general questions about your home<\/a>, and we\u2019ll provide you with recommended upgrades, relevant incentives, and estimated energy-savings. If you take the online assessment and decide you\u2019d like to explore even more opportunities to increase your home\u2019s efficiency, you can complete an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.capelightcompact.org\/home-energy-assessments\/\">in-person home energy assessment<\/a> as well \u2013 also at no-cost!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Stop drafts. <\/strong>If your home feels drafty in the winter, installing air sealing and insulation could be key to greater comfort. By completing an in-home home energy assessment, you\u2019ll become eligible for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.capelightcompact.org\/home-energy-assessments\/\">no-cost air sealing<\/a> to prevent air leaks through your walls, ceiling, and floors. Completing an in-person home energy assessment also makes you eligible to receive a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.capelightcompact.org\/insulation-rebates\/\">75% to 100% incentive on the overall cost for the insulation<\/a>. Just by improving your home\u2019s air sealing and insulation, the EPA estimates that you could <a href=\"https:\/\/3jy14ha9u771r7qzn35g0s6c-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Benefits-of-a-home-energy-assessment-descriptions-for-website.pdf\">save up to 20%<\/a> on heating and cooling costs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Upgrade your thermostat.<\/strong> A smart thermostat gives you comprehensive control over your home\u2019s comfort by customizing a heating and cooling schedule that works best for you. So, whether you\u2019re trying to keep cozy while spending a weekend home or trying to minimize your heating bill while away for a winter getaway, you can schedule your home\u2019s temperature to adjust accordingly. Plus, the Compact offers a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.capelightcompact.org\/smart-thermostat-rebates\/\">$100 rebate<\/a> on ENERGY STAR\u00ae certified models to help you make the switch! If you\u2019re looking to maximize your convenience, you can get an instant rebate if you purchase a smart thermostat through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.poweredbyefi.org\/masssave\/smart-thermostats.html\">Mass Save\u00ae Online Storefront<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Update your appliances. <\/strong>Updating everyday appliances, like room air cleaners, clothes washers and dryers, and refrigerators to energy-efficient ENERGY STAR\u00ae certified models is another step for avoiding energy waste. Believe it or not, compared to conventional models, ENERGY STAR\u00ae certified <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masssave.com\/en\/shop\/appliances\/room-air-cleaners\">rooms air cleaners<\/a> can use up to 40% less energy, certified <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masssave.com\/en\/saving\/residential-rebates\/clothes-dryers\/\">dryers<\/a> can use up to 20% less energy, certified <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masssave.com\/saving\/residential-rebates\/clothes-washers\/\">washers<\/a> can use up to 25% less energy, and certified <a href=\"https:\/\/www.masssave.com\/en\/shop\/appliances\/refrigerators\">refrigerators<\/a> can use up to 10% less energy.
