For Immediate Release: August 4, 2014\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Cape Light Compact\u2019s Overwhelming Response to Energy Survey<\/strong><\/p>\n Responses will help shape future energy programs<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Barnstable, MA<\/strong> \u2013 Cape Light Compact (\u201cCompact\u201d) is excited to announce that it has had an overwhelming response to the household energy survey that was sent out in early June to random households on Cape Cod and Martha\u2019s Vineyard.<\/p>\n \u201cWe appreciate everyone taking the time to complete this important survey. By getting involved and thinking about their energy use, they are contributing to how future programs will be designed,\u201d said Maggie Downey, Compact Administrator.<\/p>\n The Compact has received over 2,800 completed residential surveys, which exceeded its initial goal of 1,750 completed surveys. These completed surveys are important to the Compact and the region, and will help craft future energy efficiency programs. The survey asked residents to provide information on their home appliances, heating system, air conditioning, lighting, and other features that could influence energy consumption.<\/p>\n Winners of the ten $100 American Express Gift Cards and the grand prize of $1,000 in energy efficiency appliances, for households that returned the completed survey by July 9, 2014, have been randomly selected and contacted.<\/p>\n Grand Prize winner Roger Reid said that he and his wife \u201cbelieve in energy efficiency and are so excited to have won the new energy efficient appliances!\u201d<\/p>\n Another winner\u2019s motivation for completing the survey was that she is lucky enough to receive fuel assistance and wanted to take the time to help the Compact by sharing her household\u2019s information. Lisa from Provincetown stated that \u201cshe gave information on her energy use to help the Compact be more informed on what energy efficiency measures the community is using.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI recently had an energy audit and insulation installed and I was so impressed with the work and professional workers that I wanted to help out the Compact, by completing the survey!\u201d stated Hanora from Orleans.<\/p>\n The next phase of the energy survey is that a random number of households who completed the survey will be contacted via phone to see if they would be eligible and willing to participate in an on-site visit.<\/p>\n
