Workshops for Businesses Show How to Save Energy and Money

Barnstable, MA – Cape Light Compact wants more Cape and Vineyard businesses to know about opportunities for substantial savings available through its energy efficiency programs. Later this month the Compact will be presenting three workshops to explain how businesses can benefit from a range of financial incentives, rebates, and technical assistance whether they own or rent their workspace.

“Energy efficiency is a great way to hedge against the higher energy prices expected this fall and winter,” said Meredith Miller, the Compact’s Commercial and Industrial Program Manager. “The Compact is able to offer financial incentives that make the improvements very affordable, with paybacks under a year in many cases, “ Miller said.

Businesses that have participated in the Compact’s programs see benefits. “We had a great experience. Not only did the project deliver substantial savings, but we got to work with very professional staff who really knew their stuff and were a pleasure to work with,” said Clark Guinn, Sea Crest Beach Hotel in Falmouth.

Any business that signs up for a free energy assessment at a workshop will get an additional 10% above the current financial incentive toward the cost of measures that are installed as a result of the audit (up to a maximum of $5,000 and not to exceed the cost of the measure.) Attendees also will receive a FREE Philips new SlimStyle LED light bulb.

While each of the three workshops will present an overview of the Compact’s commercial programs, the latter two also will provide industry specific information. The workshops are:
