Consumer Advocacy

At Cape Light Compact, every consumer counts. We help all consumers achieve benefits and savings. In the past, we have:

  • Saved nearly $25 million in savings from the sale of the Canal Electric Plant for residents.
  • Facilitated savings in natural gas contracts for Cape schools and electric savings for municipal buildings.
  • Ensured that eligible low-income consumers receive a discounted electric rate
  • Assisted the towns in reducing costs through the purchase of streetlights and negotiated a cost-effective maintenance contract.
  • Participated in legislative and regulatory proceedings to represent the interests of the Cape and Vineyard electric ratepayers
